I was wondering about that as I read this thread..........

Thanks for all the info!! This thread gave me the motivation to black out my Sporty. Still have a little more blacking out to do, but the engine, trans, and primary are done. As soon as I figure out how to post pics from my phone I'll get them up! Oh and went with Harley's textured rattle can.

Awesome job. Just got 05 SG. Forgot how bad that unfinished look is. I want to do the same. Did you have to re-set or re-do anything. I understand that I will have to remove the horn, air cover, exhaust.
Spraying over bolts and screws is ok?
You also painted lower forks and your wheels?
Thanks for all the pix and updates. Glad I didn't have to wait to see results!

Thinking about doing this during winter downtime.
My silver engine looks grubby as hell, and I can't get the stains out.
I really love the blacked-out look of the night train, and want to acheive
something similar.

I know this is an old thread, but I am hoping to revive it to see how the paint has held up 2 years later.....

Pretty old thread. Some pics go into hibernation after a while.
