I'm watching this thread.

Curious if anyone is going to tell you how to remove a factory alarm from your/someone else's bike without assistance from the installer and without disabling the bike.

Hmmmm maybe then I can try it on my buddies bike (only kidding).

I'm curious why you care on a 2005?
The alarm is only activated by the user, it's not a proximity alarm like the newer models. Deactivate and then don't use it.

bigmikaele - you got bigger problems with the newer bike.

Either way - you need a new TSSM module without the alarm option.
Not sure if the dealer needs to install.

I was told that TSMs have to be installed by the dealer.

I was only kidding, just thought that someone with only 3 posts asking the forum for instructions on removing an alarm from some bike was suspicious.

I've actually wondering the same thing - just got a 07 springer and it came with a factory alarm already activated - so far so good but the dealer never said anything about it (Dream Machines of Texas). But, what happens if you have to replace the motorcycle battery? Does the security system not let the bike start now? What if the battery in the FOB dies? Does the bike die too? I got two keys with the bike but only one FOB, and what about the turn signal code to deactivate everything -- if you don't know it how do you reprogram it?
So no one will answer these questions here because I might have stolen my bike!
This is actually humorous - the nearest Harley dealership is only 250 miles away.

i wanted to get rid of the factory alarm on mine. what the dealer told me was that they had to hook it up on a computer and disable it, then i can never get the fob near it or it will reactivate. just thought i would pass the info on. Even if i am not totally sure the dealer wasn't jerking my chain lol

Peace
Ride safe

Weird request for sure... you can buy a bike without the factory alarm. In fact, factory alarm doesn't even come with a siren so why is the OP removing it?

Anyone missing an '05 FXD? lol

In my user's manual it tells you how to program in a code for just such a situation using your blinkers.

But do you understand it? I looked at that section and thought "Well, to hell with a code"
