Default 09 Street Bob battery cover problem

Im getting ready to do the 1000 mile service on my bike, so Ive been checking the torque specs on critical bolts and giving everything the old once over

I removed my seat today for the first time and noticed that the battery cover was only held on by onlly one screw at the bottom, the top was not clipped on to the nubs at the top.
When I attempted to clip the battery cover on to the nubs at the top and then reconnect the screw at the bottom, the bottom part of the battery case cover does not fit over the battery case.

No matter how I tried to fit the cover, it will not fit over the top and bottom of the battery case at the same time. The cover does not appear to be bent at all.
Right now the top is fitted over the nubs and the bottom is screwed in, but there is a gap that gets larger towards the bottom of the case, because it doesnt line up.

Any ideas?

I always have to smack my cover a little to get it to seat that last little bit. Make sure there aren't any wires in the way, mine came with the charger pigtail and it would sometimes get in the way.

Yeah double check your battery strap and anything else that might interfere with it fitting on.

Do you have factory security w/ siren? That siren gets put on at the stealer (or in my driveway) and its a pain to stuff under the seat. Maybe it's interfering?

Don't be scared. Put some muscle behind....after you check the battery strap and wires.
