High flow feul elbow/highflow petcock? what do you think???needed
The Bike info is a 1998 fxd Carburated bike, everything is stock, i am going to install a stage 2 kit as follows:
Air Cleaner
Other riders have been able to produce similar results:
I am getting all the info and opions i can about a cv carb modifications, i am planning on doing a carb rebuild in hopes of finding a fuel concern and also getting the carb set up for a stage 2 install.
I am changing the sheet metal becouse i have repainted e bay set-up. I started to think about changing petcock to a high flow setup but i am not really sure i need it and am looking for opinions from others that have used them.
I am considering a pingle high flow petcock for the bike i am also thinking about installing a hgh flow elbow but i do not have any idea if it is actually needed the info is attached here.. What do you think ???

Click to enlarge The CV idle mixture screw allows you to simply and easily adjust the idle mixture on the Keihin CVK40 carburetors used on all carbureted Big Twin Harley Davidson’s from 1990-2006 and XL Sportster models from 1989 to 2006. The CV idle mixture screw will also work on Kawasaki Vulcan models that use the CVK type carburetor. It has reportedly been installed on many other CVK style Keihin carburetors. I do not support installation on anything other than Keihin CVK 40's used on HD's and the Kawasaki Vulcan CVK. Installation on other CV's is not supported......

Lot 9f so called SE performance stuff. Like the ICM. My local indy bought a box full of them for like $30 a pop. Why so cheap? Well it's a street legal ICM for one, 2. no ones wants them, and 3. there's way better ICMs. Or keep the stocker and see if you can find an SE Race tuner on ebay that hasn't been hooked up to a bike. SE slip ons? The old ones back in the day were pretty good. The new ones? Might as well keep the stockers.
I'm not even gonna get into the SE performance coil and spark plugs.
Put the stock keihin stuff back in the carb. Hopefully the slide wasn't drilled out.
The fuel elbow is ok just because it's brass instead of plastic and won't break. Other than that...
Pingle makes a good petcock but the stocker flows more than enough fuel.
magnecor makes decent plug wires but if you're expecting better performance out of 8.5mm over 8mm or 7 for that matter it ain't happening tho thicker insulation can be a plus.
Street legal performance is an oxymoron.

97 WG - I installed the brass elbow as I had the plastic one and didn't want to deal with a situation if it broke while I was away from home.
Pngel petcock as it is much easier to use than stock.
Made most of your changes, but dumped the exhaust for a 2-1 Thunderheader and now running a D&D Fatcat. EV-27 cam.
Dyno w/ TH ~ 79hp/87tq. D&D ~ 81hp/83.
