Unhappy How much does a stock rear tire cost?

What have you paid for a replacement tire and the install on a Dyna? The stealer told me it would cost $250!

Yep, that's about right for a stock tire with install from a dealer.

You can buy the tire a lot cheaper through online sources.
But finding someone to mount a tire that you didn't buy from them can be hard sometimes. Some dealers will do it and some won't.

I invested in a lift and took the tire off my Nightster and found a independent bike shop that would do the install for like $40 a tire (I think)….. Planning to do it again here pretty soon with my Street Bob.

If I’m not mistaken I believe you can get a stock replacement tire from Motorcycle Superstore for around $130. Free shipping.

I got both front and rear replaced and balanced from a local independent for 237.00 out the door. I removed my own wheels and brought them in and then re-installed my wheels.

I actually like working on my bike on things I can do, and I absolutely hate getting screwed and then end up having to redo what they screwed me for...which has happened on two times from two different dealers. I realize they have lots of overhead...but to charge per hour what they do and then do shoddy work...well....bs to them. I actually bought a take off rear tire from a customer of the local dealer when they sold him the wide tire kit...so I had the new tire and the new tube with only 9 miles on it from a brand new superglide custom. I asked them how much to install the tire and balance it if I brought in the wheel. They said 65 bucks plus I would have to buy a new tube....even tho they were the ones that removed the tire and tube from the other bike...so that was another 15 bucks....80 bucks to change out a tire....F em. I won't be back for any more of that.....plus I was gonna have to wait 2-3 days before they could get to it.
I actually like almost all of the people at the dealership...but I can't afford to do business with them.

Stumbled into a Michelin sale at a nearby HDealer...Commander 21" = $78, and Macadam 50 160/70-17" = $120. Dealer wanted 3+ hours labor, new tubes, new rim bands. I got 'em changed/balanced at a local indy for $30/ea. By pulling the wheels myself, I figg'r I saved enough money that I paid for my PitBull Jack.
