09 Street Bob - Dragging muffler
The stock HD muffler on my 09 Street Bob seems to be strategically located to provide a right turn "lean indicator alarm" that sounds like dragging an empty beer can across concrete.
It looks like crap and sounds even worse.
Are we supposed to ride these puppies 10 mph through the curves like Geezer Glides?

Unfortunately that's a bi-product of the lower suspension on the newer Dynas. Used to all the Dynas but the Low Rider and FXDX came with 12.6" shocks. The Low Rider had 12" shocks and the FXDX had 13" shocks I think. Now most of them come with 12" shocks. The lowered rear looks great, but it results in less ground clearance and makes it easier to scrape pipes etc. So you have two choices. Leave it like it is and deal with scraped up pipes, or put taller shocks on it, and lose the good looks of the lowered rear and the lower seat height.
I have 12" Progressives on the back of my 95 Wide Glide, but I don't have the stock pipes. I have Santee 45 Caliber Shot Guns, which look just like V&H Long Shots. Mine drags the very bottom edge of the bottom pipe when taking curves fast. The scraped spot is on the bottom of the pipe so it isn't very noticable. If I rode agressively a lot I would probably go back to 12.6" shocks, but my riding style is pretty laid back most of the time.
I can't garranty that taller shocks will solve your pipe scraping problem, but it would have to help.

I'll ride it "as is" for a few thousand miles, and see if there is anything left of the lower muffler. I can always swap the top for bottom to get twice the life.
My preference is for the style of the stock Street Bob mufflers. I'm not so keen on the upswept styles. They don't look "retro" enough to me.
