Default screaming eagle backplate

what's the purpose of the chrome screaming eagle backplate for the stage one kit? Can this part be seen once you put the stock cover back on? It's for an 09 superglide custom. Thanks for the help.

See the 2 rounded grey areas behind my air cleaner? That's the part in question except mine isn't chrome.

Here's a side shot where you can see them little more.

the SE backplate comes in black (have it on my bike) but you have to buy it separately from the "kit" - the kit is a ripoff anyway cuz you can buy the parts you need separately for less......

good call on yours.........mine is black so I went that way. I just bought the black back plate separately, used a zipper's filter and mostly re-used the hardware from the stock filter....whole thing cost me about $70.....
