There are a lot fewer of them out here in Utah, but I can understand that. Paint would set it off, of course...

Yea it's pretty ridiculous. I've heard stories over and over about how hot THs run, but there's still the nagging in the back of my head saying something isn't right with my tune. When I say tune, I mean the one-size-fits-all program I uploaded from Vance & Hines on my FuelPak....

I hear ya. I just had my tins powdered black, added the Thunderheaders, 1/4 fairing, etc....and I'm already thinking why the hell did I go with black? haha When my bike was rootbear candy two-tone I was alllll about the black. It was a huge improvement. Now I feel so cookie-cutter. I still love the way it looks, but unfortunately it's a worn look. I'll probably give it a year or so before I spice up the color a bit.

I actually got black with idea in mind to paint it in the future. I like blue, but there are so many shades and types - until I know for sure what I want - I will run black

I put a aim vp95 variable pressure plate for sale in the multi fit parts section...figured most people looking at this thread have some motor work and may need it. Also sellings black ten spoke mags if any ones interested.

Every other day I flip flop about selling my bike to get an earlier 2000's Dyna- an FXDXT, FXDP or some variant of that. I rode my buddy's FXDX and it seems a lot lighter and more nimble, and honestly the 88" motor seems to run stronger, or more reliably or something....but I'd really miss that 6th gear. It also seems kind of silly to sell what I've got to get a 10+ year old bike. I've always loved those Dyna Defenders though...

This is pretty much the set up I want, but it's a bitch fitting those bags on a Street Bob
I know what you mean about 6th gear...I finally went back to a 66T rear pulley to get a less frantic feel above 90. Not a big problem on the 5, but when I take the 15 and have that wide-open fast trak lane, my bike felt like it was gonna burst into flames at those rpms.

Those defender bags are cool, but I like being able to pop off my LPs in a couple of seconds for my weekend rides.
