Here's my 03 FXDS with 14" west coast Tbars, thunderheader exhaust, 1/4 fairing with laminar lip and extreme cycle radio tucked behind the fairing.

So Ive got the "Further Forward Mids" to check clearance and mount if I can.

As you can see, my exhaust blocks the mounting point. The pipes are too close to the bolt heads, which are allen heads, to get a wrench in there.

Anybody have a trick I can use that negates removal of my exhaust to get to the mount?

I just don't want to take my pipes off. I suppose its not a big deal, just don't want to.

I thought about the possibility of lowering my engine.

I don't know of any tricks. My experience is that with any mid controls paired with any 2-1 where the rear head wraps around the front of the pegs...you gotta remove the exhaust. Just my .02 though.
