Grab a subscription to Horse magazine. Tons of great "minimalist" bikes. Better still, get to their expo at Rockingham, NC. It should be in May or June in 2010. the 2009 show was awesome. The builders exhibiting had truly class machines with nothing but 'tude.

You might be able to get an AMF decal from J&P.

First thing you gotta do is "bob" something. I would suggest a fender or two.

Also, get rid of the rear fender strut covers, cut the rear fender up above the tail light and tag mounts, side mounted plate w/ old school tail light...

bobbing is sort of a minimalistic form of motorcycling. chopping down fenders and removing anything you dont need. there are some really nice ones on here. mine is not a bobber but has certain elements of what a bobber is. or is not.

Strip it down to the frame and wheels, then just add what you need to keep it going.
I jest of course.
Chop fenders, lose signals and mirrors and all else that you don't need.

like everyone is saying, just lose a lot of the fluff. In my opinion, the Superglide is the best for it becasue of the dreaded "Silver Engine"! I love the look of it, and all the old bikes came with "Raw" colored drivelines.
