Exclamation Replace Your Security Fob Battery Yearly

This is just a heads up:I went out to start my bike and no go,I figured it out quick because my lights started flashing when I moved the bike even though I had my security fob.I punched in my security code and rode to the drugstore, bought&installed a CR2032 battery and all was well.It was two years old but from now on I'm replacing it yearly.Hope this helps someone.

+1 on this! My Sporty FOB batt went out within 5 months after delivery. Bad thing was, the extra FOB went out within a week of the first one. I thought the security system was screwed up.

I disagree I got the original battery in my"05" and I only use the tender over the winter months. You must have something wrong or you take a lot of short trips .I have over 22,000 miles on my bike and the battery going to get changed in the spring.

I THINK U MISSED .....the point is about the battery in the alarm key fob, not the bike battery

This brings up another question. How do you get the code for the security fob? I boughy my bike used and never thought about asking about it.

Start the manual procedure instructions in owners manual with fob in hand. It will show you the code. Then you can change it to your own.
