Nice looking hard bag with leather wrap. Just wonder how they look on the SB and how hard it would be to mount. I already have the easy brackets so I think mounting should be ok

I was grappling with concepts about how to mount Road King hard bags or the Classic hard leather-covered bags ... I ended up going with the old style hard bags (pre-'85 FLH bags) ....

Although I think they'd look good, I am not sure how they would work with Easy brackets / Ghost brackets ... since the inner face of the bags has a recessed area to accommodate the shocks that go behind the bags on the FLHR/C bikes ....

That said, where there's a will--there's a way ... on another forum, I saw a guy who had adapted the stock mounting brackets to his bike (had a touring fender) but had to stretch the lower rails (cut and weld in a section of new rod) and mounted the front mounting point on brackets that came off the frame (might have been fabbed by him also--can't remember) ....

I'd find a friend with either a Road King or Classic and ask 'em to remove one bag so you can look at the inner face ... and take a look at the mounting brackets ... the bags come off pretty easy....

I priced out the parts, and even discounted, the brackets came to something over $300 as I recall ... the bags themselves are over $500 ... although you might be able to find some take offs cheaper on eBay or Craigslist I suppose ....

Good luck ...
