Default Suggestions On A Better Than Stock Starter?

I was wondering if there is a Starter out there that will perform better on our 96 Twin other than the stock starter.

Thanks for any advice

Just curious... what's up with your starter? I'm over 13k miles and starter seems just fine....

There are more aftermarket I am doing some research on it. I had my stock one replaced when it went bad under warranty so it didn't cost me anything.

My starter took a dump on me at the end of the summer. But I think my 103" had a hand in it going bad, at the time I didn't have compression releases. After port & polishing my heads I added the releases and the dealer, even though my bikes out of warranty replaced it with the chrome high output one. All I did was pay the difference between the two, about $101. That 1.4 starter does the job!

The first one went south after 8,000 miles. I'm not real confident in the HD starter.

Most of the Shovel guys swear by All *****. I know they make starters for sporty's up to about '03, not sure if they make later, TC stuff. Worth checking out. Not cheap, but do you want cheap or good?

I had outstanding luck with the SPYKE 1.7 starter and a 330 amp battery. Would whip over a high compression stroker with no issues. Hot or cold it was like the spark plugs weren't even in the bike.

Try Ultima, great starter, very reasonable price.
