Dyna Jiffy Stand
#11
the stands we have are very secure. They are notched and ain't going anywhere. Put the stand down, set the bike, feel confident in it.... Yeah it may look like it does not set forward enough, so what, the darn thing works perfectly fine even though it looks wrong. I can say 2 years ago when shopping for a bike, I sat on a few and whenever I put the bike back on it's stand and then it shifted forward...I was like oh crap.

BTW, I've never had a problem using the "jiffy stand".

I heard the jiffy term originated from the police bikes and was advertised, when they first came out, that the rider could get off the bike and park it in a jiffy (one motion while on bike). jiffy just stuck.
I had one instance where the stand was not quite in the forward locked position and the bike started to fall over. As long as you kick it forward and make sure its engaged in the slot, then the stand is pretty secure.... until the asphalt starts to melt out from under it....

good lord I never would thing one could not make sure the stand was down completely before resting bike on it... baffles the thought processes...
Just went outside and pushed on the bike to see if it would unlatch... nope...not until I lift the bike off the stand.
I'll add some instruction:
1 come to a complete stop
2 using inner bottom portion of heel push stand out completely
3 keep heel on the outer edge of stand and lean bike onto it
4 dismount bike.
Note if dropping stand while not on bike use your toes in step 2&3

Thanks for taking the time to write-up these detailed instructions. I plan on printing them out and having them laminated!
Does anyone know where I can get a bracket in order to mount the laminated instructions, and attach next to the kill switch?
