Engine Jug Discoloration/oxidation?
This is my first winter storing my bike in the garage (unheated) and as I have started working on it again, I've noticed that the fins on the jugs have started to discolor, kinda looks like oxidation?? This might be a dumb question, but what is it? What is the best way to get rid of it? and, What's the best way to prevent it? Any advise would greatly help, thanks guys...

I see your tank is black, if your jugs are that black texturized paint then what you want is s-100 engine brightener, from your local hd. Man I use to clean, clean, clean them jugs and nothing would get that white residue off the black fins, but this stuff just sprays on and makes em black again. If you have the silver jugs then you might ask these guys what they use.

Head down to HotRod and pick up the S100 engine brightener, use as directed. Not really a cleaner just a black paint treatment, I've used "shout" laundry cleaner on both bikes with excellent results. I know it's freakin cold in my garage here, hope you have a good heater.

BTW, no heater in the garage, I go out for about an hour at a time... then go back into the house to warm up... seeing as how it's 20 degrees out here... you know how it goes. Once it gets o a consistent 40 degrees I'll get a lot more done out there.
