what are the differences between a street bob for the same price and the wide glide? the street bob's i have seen didn't have forward control's, don't have bobtail rear fender, and just seemed to be a little bit smaller bike than the wide glide

Looks to be a pretty good deal Spinner.
I am just accross the creek from Hastings, in Prescott, and looked the add up.
He's from Minnetonka ($$$$), and say's she was messaged from the get go.
If its a Wide Glide that trips your trigger it is certainly worth a test ride. As you say, given the local market $8K is a helluva buy.
Good luck, and post your results, I'll be curious what you do.

Like all the Dynas, there are differences between them. My take on it is this - the Wide Glide was at the top of the food chain. It was the most expensive version and had a lot of chrome. Not many dark custom WG's around. I didn't want anything else. I liked the rear fender, forwards, 21" front wheel, raked out forks, and a whole-lotta bling... That's why I'm not in love with the 2010' WG, but they are selling the **** out of those things...

Only one thing odd about what the guy told you. I don't know how the bike could be fuel injected. They didn't come out with fuel injection on Dyna models until 2004. As for the price, you could probably find a similar bike a little cheaper, but if it's worth the money to you I say go for it. I don't think the price is that bad if the bike is clean.

Used Wide Glides seem to typically go for around $10 grand, with some exceptions of course. I went with an '02 because I wanted a carbed bike. It pretty much boils down to whether or not you really like that particular bike. If you are willing to spend $10 grand, you can pretty much take your time & find one that is exactly or nearly exactly what you are looking for.

Hmm, well maybe I'm wrong, but I could of sworn fuel injection wasn't available on Dynas pre-04. Carbed or injected it doesn't seem like a bad deal. If you get it be sure to post up some pics.
