Default 1994 Dyna front end only 3 inch when im sitting on it, What should I do? Options?

When I sit on my dyna it slumps... bad.

I thought maybe it was just because I had recently changed the front end and the new ones didnt have much fluid so i ran 15 wt in the forks?

Should I replace to springs?

Heavier oil?

Seals?

Just kind of figured I would ask around before I wasted money.

Are the tubes raised in the upper tree, this is an old trick to cheaply lower front ends.

Good time to upgrade to progressive springs, would not be the seals because would you see fork oil leaking, also heavier oil does not affect ride height only dampening

my 96 fxd did the same thing. changed the fluid still just as bad. my springs ended up being shot. i put in progressives and it is much better now. i wanna put heavier weight oil in though. want it to be a little stiffer.

I'm thinking about doing the race tech heavy duty springs with the gold emulator cartridge. I read nothing but good things. I had progressive shocks on the wide glide front end that came with the bike and it rode like a dream. I'm just not a wideglide guy so I ended up swapping front ends.

Sounds like you are on the right track. You'll like the racetech valves.

In the mean time Stuff a 3/4 pvc coupling in each tube on top of the springs as a stop gap. Or cut a coupling in 1/2, then each tube gets a piece, on top of the springs.
