Hello everyone here at HD forum, I am glad to be here. I have a few questions with hopes that someone might have the answers. I am building a 1980 wide glide and was given a set of forks as a gift they are 38" long, Now I am going for a raked look maybe just not captain America. So does anyone have the front end specs on this creature? Just stock fork length and rake. Also I want to put a comfortable seat on it. So I would like to use a deep bucket. I cant afford a mustang, but i have been seeing a lot of newer FLH seats on ebay for dirt cheap. Is there a way I can modify my frame to make one of these seats fit? Or are the frames majorly different? Any advice on this? I have a welder and plasma cutter at my disposal. Thanks for any help guys
Just looked in the service manual and could not find the specs your looking for. Sorry, but I did try.I also have the parts book, if you need any part #'s
Edit: Try the shovel section of the forum.

I've owned three shovelheads and I'm only 33 years old. But good luck getting that seat to fit. theres a major difference in the frame.
Have you isolated the primary oiling system on your sled? if not then your runnin clutch fibers through your engine on the shovelhead.
Have you posted in the Shovelhead section yet? As was answered in your seat post: Easy fit is 1984 and older FL or FX seats. Of course, you can make anything fit if you have the time, skill, or the money.
Here's my 1980 FLH with a Pan solo and hand made pillion.
