Default Fatbob wider rear tire. ????

I have an 09 fatbob with the stock 180 mm tire and wanted to know what is the widest tire that will fit beneath the stock rear fender. Also has anyone changed the swingarm and fender to accommidate a wider tire like a 230 mm? Suggstions and pics appreciated.

if you look ay yhe space between your drive belt and the actual tire there is only about a hlf inch. that leaves 10 mm on either side. If you take a bump or tight turn at speed there is already a chance the belt will rub against the tire. Your safst bet if you want to do that ,i think, you will need a kit,new swing arm fender mods and so on. just my couple cents.

Guys here have done 200mm rears on stock setups, which seems to be the max. More than that and you're talking swingarm, fender, wheel, and spacers. I'd be interested to see one rolling on a 240 though!

Here are a couple pics of a Fat Bob with a 240 tire. I believe the bike was built by a company in Europe but I can't for the life of me find the site now!

Had you ran through the list of threads on page 1 before posting this one, you would have found this thread, https://www.hdforums.com/forum/dyna-...on-fatbob.html. It's approx 10 posts below yours.

If wide tires are like bell bottoms than the 1960's are back. Just about every manuafacture is doing some type of bike with a wide rear tire now. The Yamaha Raider, Suzuki M109R for examples. Also i like to to take longer rides, not much on city rides or around town. Like the unique looks of that Fatbob with the 240 mm tire.
