I cant help on the mileage, I'm only at 500 miles so far. I too get a vibration when leaning left and right from the front. It was driving me nuts at first but I see in here others have the same thing with the Michelin.
Up-Date
I'm up close to 3400 miles and the vibration is exactly the same. it dose make a kind of humming noise too, always has. Has nothing to do with tire psi I had the tires hard as a rock and every thing in between and the vib is always there.
thanks for the replies. i'm ride pretty much like you WLOS. try to stay off the big roads and enjoy my ride. i like the dunlops but the low milage on the rear hurts the wallet. still can't make up my mind but i'll have to shortly.
later
I put 13,000m on my michelins; '10 superglide. Never had a problem with buzzing or shaking or anything for that matter...
Anyone, getting rid of there stock Scorchers???.... How much???

Reason: added wording
What's the recommended PSI in the Michelins. I know what the Dunlops recommend...36-40 loaded. Wonder if the sidewall on the Michelin is stiffer than on the Dunlops and you're getting chattering? Maybe there is a break in period? Interesting.
30 front 40 rear. I belive the buzzing/vibration is from the bar and shield on the tire as well like Grendel4 said. It's a little odd at first but you get use to it and it's not a big deal.
I'm getting a little noise on my 2010 FXD Michelins going around turns at 4,300 miles but I don't think there's anything specifically defective about them. My experience is all bike tires get a little louder with miles. I'm pleased there's no cupping but the wear rate is only average. My bike's rear tire will be worn out before 6,000 miles.

I don't think the vibration is from the bar and shield on the tire. You'll never lean over far enough to hit it. Beside that the vibration feels more like a buzz. Which to me would mean there would have to be many more bar and shield indents closer together to get that feeling.

I you don't think you'll ever lean over far enough to hit the bar and shield on the tire you either don't have them or haven't looked at them lately.
