Default Best chopper kits.

I'd like to rake my 06 dyna out maybe 10 degrees, with some 8 or 10 over tubes, but I hate to cut the original frame.

So, can anybody recomend a reputable kit manufacturer who builds workable triple trees that would provide some additional rake??

And, does anybody have any experience in raking them out by only changing the trees??? The only chops I've ever had were truly chopped, so I don't have any idea how one would handle with the additional rake in the trees alone.

Any input is greatly appreciated.

I believe its called seeger cycles that make a chopper kit for most bikes. Their kit inludes trees, brake line and 10" over tubes, and they claim their trees arent raked. how they work Im not sure but Ive seen a couple bikes with the kit and the look bad ***. A shop around my way sells the kit for like$1600 if I remember corectly and installs it for around $2100. Not cheap but how many cool things are. Also their all over the web if you look for seeger cycles chopper kit! Later

I'm already on it guys! Here is a copy of an Email and reply from Seeger:

Hi Mike,
We are working on a kit for the new fat tube Harley's now. As soon as we get a quote on the tube cost, I will be able to answer your question. We expect the kits to be some higher only because of the bigger tube costs.

I will add your email address to a list to be notified when the price and delivery date is ironed out.

Thanks for your inquiry,

I don't really understand what the hold up could be. There are longer fork tubes already out there.

I don't know if it would be as simple as taking the older model trees and milling them out for the big tubes, but you'd think the geometry would be close.

As far as paying $2100 for someone to install the kit...you don't deserve to ride it if you didn't install it!!

There is a compnay now making fronts that only use factory neck as a support. They safely change the rake so you still have the right trail and not a flip/floppin front end. I have their site on my computer at work and will send it to you tomorrow, bump this in the morning so it is up and easy to find.

Woops! The site I am referring to has the AME kits...not Seeger Cycles.

The kits they have are 9°, 14° and 18° rakes. I only see 13° kits on Seeger's site.

Whoa, the $2100 is with the kit installed, so they actually charge around $500 to install it. Im just giving ya prices there man, not everyone on the board does thier own installs!

Istalling is half the fun!!

That price is not outrageous then for the kit plus labor.

I guess if it was installed by a Harley Dealer then it would be $2100 for labor!

I am seriously kicking this around, but if they don't come out with a kit soon I'll probably blow the money on chrome or a paint job...which isn't a bad thing anyways.

I think a BOB with a good rake and open primary would be wicked.
