Default mabe 37 cams for now ... hmmmm

Well I am a big fan of the WOOD's TW6-6 cam. but after looking at my down the road build - and the fact that I have to do it in stages I am leaning twords the andrews 37 cam set. Just because I can get my roller rockers early and the 37's should be easy to get rid of. Hillside will be doing my heads and cylinders and I will be going 98 instead of 95. I just cant do the 4 degree advance gear to make the woods TW6-6 work. TOO much heat. And for you guys that dont do desert riding you are missing the 120 degree blow drier in your face. Just giving up too much in the heat control department and I hear the 37's run cooler than the woods stuff. Tell me if I am close to joining the 100/100 club.

$74.98 17045-99C cam replacement KIT !!!
$15.92 17650-02 vaccume plate inside heads (2 needed)
$132.61 18404-08 Adjustable Tapered Pushrods
$450.00 S&S roller rockers
$673.51 basic parts

$224.00 Andrews 37 cam

stage 1 $897.51 cam upgrade

stage 2 $600.00 98 bore job with pistons

$1,040.00 headwork - stage II headwork from Hillside

stage 3 $1,040.00 top end work

$2,537.51 ouch

And for the final stage I will get :::::

$650.00 51MM throttle body
$265.00 tw9B-6 woods cam

stage 4 $915.00 final mod

$3,452.51 final bill

Down the road looking at the TW9B-6 WOOD's cam
Especially if going to the 98" build
Will require the S&S roller rockers in addition to a
51MM HPI Throttle body with a 1.800 intake port

$450.00 S&S roller rockers
$650.00 51MM throttle body
$1,100.00

$921.51 parts, 37 cams and roller rockers

$338.90 parts, 37 cams ONLY no rods or rockers

well I am right at $2500 with the bore job and and headwork.. Beings that I am ending up with the WOOD's tw9-6 cam I wanna stay with Hillside cause they are the folks that build motors around those cams. Its the roller rockers and the intake that takes it a little far. But I think in the end I should approach 125 HP/TQ. At least I think I can.

It's also time for crank work and don't forget the clutch.

You're not going to need a 4* advance gear if Scott is doing your heads. He will set up the compression to match the cam. PM me.

pushing 125 you are also going to have to go with the timpkin bearing and have the crank welded and trued... you may get lucky thougha nd have not run out on it when you pull it

Jarhead, you can do the cam upgrade yourself. I did it a few weeks ago. Not hard at all.

The 37s are not bad at all. You will see power come on just a little earlier than if you had the tw6 cams.

The 4* advance is used only if you are not doing the heads at this time. You can use the 4* gear on the 37's too if you choose to do so.

Kinda changed my whole build. Guys that mentioned having to do the bottom end got me thinking. I am gonna back off the build a little. Save me a little $ .... I will do the monster later down the road when I can deal with the down time and extra cash. I usually would not post my planned upgrades - cause I am an azzhole and dont care what peeps think... But in this case I am glad I did, and all can say is thanks to all those that responded giving there input. Thanks guys. Gonna go a little milder for now.
