I just ordered mine today

Never a bad thread to revive. FYI, you can also go to the top right and click on thread tools and subscribe to the thread.

Awesome write up. Going to start gathering parts and tools for this. Hopefully it doesn't take months. Sounds like a fun project. Thinking of buying all the tools then just rent them out to other members for a small fee like $20 or something.

Question, was is the primary chained need to be marked?

nope! you can just pull it out to get behind that inner primary... also this is a great time to powder coat the inner primary or install chrome if you are planning on doing this mod. I do stock an twin cam inner primary for exchange

Same question... Why do you mark the chain? I got mine pulled apart in about 45 mins, minus the pulley nut (socket won't be here til Tuesday). I'm working without a book, really just using this thread.
