Thank you very much for all the pics and advice, you did a great job. Now I know for a fact this is beyond my mechanical skills , and I would need to buy all the spacial tools and I bet there not cheep. I didn't know it would be this hard just to install a new drive belt ether. I helped a friend put a drive belt on a 05 Sportster and that was easy compared to a Dyna. I've been told it could get up to $500 to do this mod. I will call around tomorrow and see. I'm a little bummed out now that I know I will need to pay labor for sure, and that kind of money could put this mod out of my reach. Man, I sure wish I had got in to mechanic work and not construction when I was young, to late for me now. On top of this I live in Michigan and you don't want to know how bad my kind of work is in this state. With the federal government spending money like a mad man with a stolon credit card, I don't see things getting better any time soon here. Sorry, I didn't mean to get in to a rant. 'jshll' again thank you, now I know what I'm up against.

I pull my ECM fuse before disconnecting the battery, per my T-Max manual.

Great write up! could you measure the stock pulleys width and the offset from the outer edge to the female splines?

assuming that all of this work would have to be done in order to change the drive belt maybe it'd be a good time to do the mod is when that belt needs replaced.

Nice write up J. The one thing I noticed missing from those pics. is the empty beer cans. That probably should have been a 4 to 6 beer job. Maybe 9 depending on the pulley nut.

thanx guys, just got back from a 292 mile rip. this thing runs so much better, i am at 2500 rpm @ 70 by my speedo. That is acutally 68 by gps. 3000 @ 80 by my speedo. that is actually 77 by gps. again I cannot say enough good things about this mod, definatly worth the money. the list of things i used is as follows
1)andrews 30t.............................131.99
1)barnett heavy duty clutch spring..30.99
1)primary gasket...........................35.00
1)inner primary gasket....................free
5)inner primary bolts......................12.00
1)quart of redline..........................12.99
-----------------------------------------
221.98
what I borrowed
1)primary drive locking tool.............26.00
1)trans sprocket locking tool............86.00
1)mainshaft sprocket wrench...........86.50
------------------------------------------
198.50
so ya you would have 425 if you had to buy all the parts, but I didnt, thanks for freinds! but even if you had to buy you are cheaper than paying a shop and you have the tools. this is not hard I did it in 6 hours or so and next round I could probably do it in 1 to 2, especially if I had air, I did it all with hand tools! dollar for dollar best power mod so far. we will see after the cams/headwork and tune.....hogrida, there was a plenty of corona that was not pictured.....
