Default Any Advice or Words of Wisdom Before Replacing Throttle?

I'm replacing my handlebar grips and also the control switches (because the words were all faded and worn off). I already got the left side pretty much done.

BUT, before I start taking apart the right side, does anybody have any advice for me?

The left side grib just pulls off. Pretty simple. But the throttle is a rolling grip, and I don't know if there is any special technique to getting that sucker off without f_ _king things up.

Anybody got any experience with this kind of project? Thanks guys. To show my appreciation, here's a picture of a kitten playing with a ball of yarn:

Front of the forum, page 2 gives full details on grip removal.

Default Throttle Cables

If your bike is a carb model it's easier than an EFI bike. The little brass ferrules are a pain to keep in place. Really isn't that hard at all.

I checked out the instructions on Page 2 like Denny69 said. I'd feel more comfortable if I could find some instructions with pictures, though.

By the way, Dyna Rider, my bike is fuel injected. Is the EFI hard than carb because of the ferrules?

Oh, by the way, my bike also has a cruise control switch on the throttle side. Any special warning about that sucker before I take it apart?

Nope. I keep extra brass ferules cause I drop them alot. Cheap. Lube cables while apart. Careful about pinching the wires on reassembly. Adjust as per the book. CC switch no factor.

Default "Cruise Control"

There is a little plastic shoe that actually holds the throttle in place on your cruise control. NOTHING holds it on so it will fall and get lost fast. Just pay attention when you take it apart. There is also a wrist clip (it's tiny) that helps hold the cruise control **** shaft in place and if you screw it **** all the way out, it will come off the shaft.
Carbed bikes are easier because there is only one cable to deal with.

Is it really necessary to remove the air filter cover? Also, what kind of glue should I use on the new grips?

Default Grips

I didn't remove the air cleaner and had no problems...I do not know about the glue. Do a search about grips and glue...I seem to remember a thread about it last year. My new grips came with set screws on the L/H grip.
