Dyna Street Bob new to me.
Bought a 2009 Street Bob with 2685 miles on it for 10,000 from a individual. He was not comfortable riding it. Price was right so I bought it. Bike looks new, not a scratch on it. Checked with the Harley shop about warranty an still covered until 7/2011. Gas leaks out of tank around gas cap when filled. Filled tank twice an leaked both times, Went to dealer an he told me I was filling the tank to much, filled it right before I went there an 1" lower than fill hole an showed him gas running out. The clear coat around the filler neck is peeling away from the gas leaking an dealer says not a warranty problem. Dealer says you can't see it so, Harley says no warranty for this. So if you can not see it no problem, but I believe over time the gas will get more under the clear coat an cause a problem. But my Sportster gas cap on it to see is just a bad gas cap on the Dyna. Bike rides better than the 07 Dyna I had. Now have a 95 Sporster, 06 Night Train an 09 Dyna Street Bob. She is talking about learning to ride an I am all for it, she is going to attend a safety course first. Then talking her into another bike.

My 09 Street Bob leaks too. While riding back from Ohio I tried maxing my tank as much as it could possibily hold. Once I pulled the bike level after filling, it was leaking. Eventually it dripped on my newly painted pipes and stained them (high temp grill paint - nothing expensive).
So, the next few fillups I made sure to stop when the pump told me to (ya, I still topped it off a little bit). It's been fine since.
I thought someone had the same problem on here and said the tanks aren't supposed to be seeled well enough to stop some leaking if you fill it way over the fill line. I don't know. Personally, I know the level where it leaks and it where it doesn't on mine, so I don't fill it past that line anymore. An extra ounce of gas isn't going to get me any further between stops anyway.
