Default Dislocated my shoulder today.....

I get my bike out today, parked it on the drive, climbed aboard it all ready to set off to work, and even now I still can't fathem it out, but some how there I was at a stand still when I lost it tipping to one side (the left side fortunately) and it went past its center of gravity and gracefully toppled over wrencing my shoulder out out of its socket as I tried to save it and gently lay it down. No discernable damage that I see see apart from a slightly bent gear shift lever.

Me - I ended up in absolute agony in A&E having my shoulder put back in it socket under a brief anethestic. My wife and brother in law managed to pick the bike up and my neighbour, who is also a biker then secured it safely back in my garage. All I can say is gas and air, introveinus paracetomol, and morphine are good!

Doc reckons it'll 2/3 weeks before I can ride again :-(

Glad to hear not much was damaged on the bike it sounds like! I have dislocated my shoulder in the past and 2-3 weeks would be an insane recovery time. You might be able to ride but it will still be very sore I would say a couple months till you feel much better.

I threw my shoulder out playing racquetball a few years back. Like, literally threw it. I was going for an overhand swing and as my arm went forward the shoulder popped out and went with it. I slid it back in somehow and never went to the doc, but should have. It was sore for a few weeks for sure!

Glad you didn't hurt the bike. No seriously glad you'll be ok, you'll just have to look at her for three weeks.

Hope you heal quickly. Twice I have had to put all I had into keeping it from going over. Once I was in the garage and had just adjusted the bars and reached down a little to the left side to put the socket wrench on the floor and it just started to go over. It got almost to the floor and I was able to upright it without it going all the way down. Glad I go to the gym every day or I would not have had the strength to upright it.

I know that horrible feeling of having it go over for no apparent reason. Not a newbie, but holy crap ...

Mine went to the right side - no damage, except to me.

Get well. Now you have 2 or 3 weeks to search the net and get some new stuff!
