I own a 2010 Dyna Super Glide, what is the widest tire that can be mounted on rear in stock postion. Only wider ? Stock is 160.

I believe it can go to 180 with the HD modification kit. I think i recall someone putting a 200 on there but it was quite a bit of extra work. Post pictures if you do the mod.
Cheers!

There's only a couple of 180s that will fit on your 4.5" rim. One is the Pirelli Night Dragon and the other is the HD 180 Dumflop.

At least, that's what I understand. I've also read here on this forum that the visual size difference from the stocker to the Pirelli is almost non-existent.

Do some research. There's plenty of back and forth on this forum and on this board about it.

If you want more options as far as a 180 goes, swap in an 18x5.5 wheel. You'll have plenty of 180 options.

I have the gt502 (hd180) installed. It does fill up the rear nicely. Yes, the pirelli night dragon isn't much wider than a stock 160 but it does handle much better...or so I've heard.

I was told by one dealer you could put a 170 on without any modification.....I don't know if it will look much better....

As others have noted, the actual width difference isn't very much even though some tires are technically bigger (170 vs 160), etc. Looking at the specs, I've given up on the idea of trying to put a "wider" tire on. To me, it isn't worth the lack of choices to be .5 or less wider.

SC - did you have to fit the HD 180 rear wheel kit to put that wheel on your bike or modify/replace the wheel spacers?
Cheers.

No sir on both counts. Stock 17x4.5 wheel. HD (formerly SE180) 180. New tube. New rim strip.
