Haven't come across very many (actually none at all) exploding oil pans. Maybe they would have more success repositioning the product and marketing the "Skid Plate" to be used to prevent 'skid marks' on your underwear.

The install would be tricky (and uncomfortable) but it looks like it could be very effective.

Actually, I was killed twice...when I looked under the bike to see if there was any damage my forehead struck the protruding oil pan killing me instantly. Took me quite a while to recover from that one you can bet. I bought the skid plate and bolted it to my forehead. I'm not getting killed by that thing again.

Wouldn't have happened if you were running Amsoil.

And I'm curious...is that skid plate DOT approved?

Aside from the scare tactics, I'll bet that $100.00 skid plate didn't cost $10.00 to make.

Hi guys, Ive been on this site before, but never needed to post until now. I am building a skid plate for my 02 lowrider because I did bust mine. It wasn't as bad as the website you showed up top, but I went over some train tracks and bottomed out (it always bottoms out), and after we came out for breakfast there was 2 qts of oil under my bike, "WTF' It broke the corner off the pan by the drain plug and I had to use quick epoxy putty for the 80 mile trip so I could get home. Just thought I would share.
