Default What did you do to upgrade your front suspension?

What combinations worked \ didn't work for you? I have upgraded my rear suspension to Ohlins gas separated, but now it only magnifies how poor the front suspension is.

I am planning on converting my front end to dual disc this winter and would like to upgrade my front suspension at the same time.

I did progressive springs and screamin' eagle heavy weight oil. not sure which change is making the difference.. but I have virtually no brake dive now.

I stayed with the stock springs, but added ricor intiminators and amsoil 10w shock therapy. It works good for me. It gives a better ride and feel, but the best thing about it to me was the improved braking. Front brake feels much better.

What he said......with the exception that I tried the Progressive lowering kit at first, but removed it and went back with the stock H/D components (trimmed the spacer tube 5/8", because of the installation of the Ricor Intiminators).
Great inexpensive upgrade.

Default Ohlins drop in cartridges

I have put Ohlins 36PRCLB shocks on the back- great shocks. I have RaceTech cartridge emulators and the stock springs in the front, and that improved the ride and cut down the brake dive. However, I am going to put the Ohlins 39 mm drop in cartridges in the front forks, so I can get the best benefit from the suspension. I also want to be able to adjust the front forks for solo and 2-up riding. With the racetech cartridge emulators you can dial in your weight and ride preferences, but you can't change the settings without removing them from the forks. Good luck. Jay

Good question. I'm putting a new front end on this week going from a 39mm narrow glide to a 49mm mid glide. The heart of the build are the Ohlins FGK205 30mm cartridges. They are fully adjustable for rebound and compression.

Hope to have the bike back on the road by this weekend and will give you a full report.
