Here is what they are made out of.

J bend in the 1 7/8 variety. 31 bucks from Summit Racing


Thermatec Copper Header Wrap. 45 Bucks from Summit


I made them when the bike had like 10 miles on it so I was able to reuse all the fasteners and such. I painted them with High Temp BBQ paint. It works the best from my experience.

Plain old S/E II slip ons for me. I like 'em.....too bad they discontinued them. Just installed V&H Straightshot slip ons on my wife's sporty and they sound even better IMHO. I would definately consider those as an option for those looking for an easy pipe solution.
