Default V-Rod Rear wheel on an 06 Dyna

Anybody tried this or know if it would work. The '02-'07 V-Rod wheels are 18x5.5 rim with a 1" axle, all of which should fit, but I'm not sure about the spacers, rotor, pulley and everything else. The wheel install kit from Harley (link) is the same for both bikes, but I don't think that guarantees anything.

I did it, was not easy. The pulley side bolt pattern does not match up with standard pulley. I had an adapter plate made. The hub is wider so stock brake does not work ,I had an oversized swingarm to use.

Thanks filthpig. Sounds like a little more involved than what I was planning. What bike did you do it on?

mines on 08 fxdc.....the biggest problem was the pulley. I had thought of going to a brake/pulley combo, but the idea of the brake heating up the belt just does not appeal. The sprocket/chain combo was also not an appealing option for me. This is what I came up with.
I had additional holes drilled and taped into the hub, then made the spacer plate.

But, I have since decided that I need a bigger pulley on the rear so I have a 70tooth blank I am going to fit to the plate. I just am not happy with where the wheel ended up in relation to the swingarm, there is less than an eigth of an inch between the two. So this means a new longer belt, might as well put on a bigger pulley. Having ideas of extending the swingarm an inch or two as I only have about half an inch axle play with the current setup.

It simply never ends........
