Dunlop Rear Tire Width Versus Metzler?
I can't seem to find the width listed for the stock 160/70-17 Dunlop, for the Metzler 170/60-17 ME880 the width is listed as 169mm(6.66 inches app.)Since this is the widest Metzler recommended for the stock rim I'm curious about the width, anyone using this size Metzler?

I don't know if this helps but a 160/70B17 Metzler is 1/2" wider than the exact same size Dunlop (160/70B17). I laid both brand tires on a flat surface and then laid a straight 2 by 4 across them and the Metzler was 1/2" taller, actually wider. I think these tire sizes have some variances in them, at least between tire brands.
BTW, I took that measurement because I was eyeballing a 175/55R17 run flat car tire (Mirada Sport GTXP) that I think will fit my 08 fxdl, leaving me 1/4" clearance on each side of the tire. Still pondering, I'm liking the run-flat part.
