I have a 05 FXDL and want to change the standard narrowglide front end to a mid glide or an entirely different frontend. Either way I would like to run a headlight without the idiot lights in the eyebrow. I am interested in photos or ideas from those who have already tastefully or creatively relocated the idiot lights somewhere and how you did it.

 

I have a 02, FXDL and would like to do the same thing and install a bullet style head light.

 

i have a 01 fxdl that i recently changed my headlight on...i kept my 39 mm trees.because of my fork brace..Headwinds offers a couple pieces for relocating the lights without the eyebrow..the piece mounts in the same place..its just a angled,chromed bracket..here are others on here that did a great job of moving their lights to the console by moving the speedo forward a lil and the tach rearward a lil..if i were changing my trees this is what i would have done..research headlight mod..relocating idiot lights..might help..i got my headlight from eastern performance. for some reason i cant get my pics to upload..

 

Dpriest did a nice job of relocating his lights to the console. I have an 07 Low Rider and mine came mounted in the handlebar clamp. My brother has 00 Low Rider and his were also relocated to the handle bar clamp when he changed his headlight. Others have just drilled holes in the console and used led lites.....

 

Relocate to the console. A little drilling, some soldering and you're good to go. You might do a search, I think Joe (JRK5892) did this at one point and he probably posted pics.

I've pulled the eyelid-style headlight on my 02 FXDL.
Drilled the lower triple and will mount a 6 1/2" lamp there.
Will relocate the idiot light to the top triple with the bracket from Headwinds.
An FYI: on the Headwinds bracket....
They have been having trouble with their chrome process so some of their parts are on backorder. They figure it will be a few weeks before they ship the brackets.

 

I just ordered the Headwinds bracket yesterday, you are right, about 2 to 3 weeks before shipment. Traceman will probably have something else figured out by the time it gets here!

i would tap LEDs into the dash... mainly cause i have done it about 5 times now on this same type of change, looks good and works
