IMO an impact wrench is not a good idea but its whatever works for you. We have been using a large pipe wrench with cheater bar on the 2 1/4" socket to easialy get the nut off and back on.Oh ya, use the pulley locking block,it takes all the strain off the tranny.
Also the 30Tooth pulley for the "11 TriGlide is direct fit for any of the 96" bikes with 6 speed trans. and cost is around $65.

Got a part number for that pulley??????

The HD part. # for the pulley is 83595-11. You may also have to use a shorter drive belt, i didnt because i put a Fnkenstien rear on my Dyna, but on the Road King i needed a shorter belt and on wifes TG there was enough adjustment left.
I will mention one thing again, IMO using an impact on the 2 1/4" nut especially without the locking tool is just beating the crap outta everything between there and the rear brake, it will work, your choice.

From what I have seen and read on this board you can usually get away with using the stock belt on a dyna. Thanks for the part number. I am looking to do this mod soon
