Default 2010 Street Bob tail light re wire

I know this will have been asked a thousand times,I'm finding so many results when I search the forum, can someone please clarify for me ............
I'm replacing my 2010 stock sparto (three wires , orange & white , red & yellow , and black.) with a side mount Vincent style light which will be both running and brake light (two connections).
Which wires will I need?Does one get blanked off?
I'm no electrician, any help will be appreciated.

Thanks

Black is ground, and the O/W is the accessory wire, which is what you would need for the plate light.
R/Y is brake light

OK thanks,
Again it may sound basic, but would the ground be connected to the actual mounting bolts for the light?

The light should have 2 wires, 1 ground & 1 light, or they can have 3, the 3rd being running light.
Easiest way to check is to use a 9v battery, or touch the wires to your bikes battery to see what lights up.
If you have 2 leads on a light and touching power does not light it up, then hold the metal base on the negative terminal and touch the wires to the positive, if that works then just run the ground to the mounting bolts.
