Default Photos of holes to drill for 'bar internal wiring?

Hello chaps,

So I've decided the apes on my Street Bob have got to go. I've bought a pair of genuine Sportster 'bars and they have control dimples but no internal wiring holes. Can anyone direct me to a photo of a dimpled drilled 'bar so I can see where the hole has to go and how big diameter the drill needs to be?

Cheers.

i just did this last nite, check my post here:
https://www.hdforums.com/forum/8016664-post12.html

couple of noteworthy things I found while searching and doing this:
- 5/8" is the most common number i've seen for the 'in' holes, it might be tight but i wouldnt want to go any bigger (lengthening the hole along the dimple might work if it seems to tight)
- have someone mark the spot where you want the wires to come out, hold the bars in place on the bike while they do this
- the 'out' hole i made is slightly larger than the diameter of the dremel's heavy duty cutting disc
- the grinding stone bit for the dremel works wonders for deburring
- make sure you've deburred it a lot BEFORE you poke your finger in to check

good luck and enjoy!

Here's a tip--when you think you've finally gotten the edges of the hole nice and smooth so it won't chafe the wiring.......keep going. I even bought a couple of rubber grommets at the hardware store for mine.

Just a quick probably dumb question but did you have to change the cables? Due to length, etc.

A round 1/8" fine file (jewelers file) goes a long way when it comes to deburring.

I'm going to swap the throttle and clutch cables for 2010 Wide Glide versions but H-D only list the same set of wires for all the Dynas so I guess you can just stuff 'em more into the frame.
