Talking Build Name Unknown - 2009 FXDB Street Bob

I have been on this site for a while now. A long time lurker then a few posts here and there. It is time for me to make a thread to keep track of all my accessories and changes. I purchased this bad boy late July '09. It was completely stock. I purchased it at Waugh HD in Orange, VA. Love it there. I've attached my purchase photo so yall can see how much I was cheesin. Before I rode it home though, I took a test ride in their park and the stock seat was uncomfortable. I had them add a few things.

Purchase Date: 07/27/2009 Purchased From: Waugh Enterprises Harley-Davidson

First Accessories Installed at time of purchase:
52378-07 Low-Profile Leather Seat
53968-06C Turn Signal Relocation Kit

52749-85A Tall Sissy Bar Upright Medallion Style - Chrome
52965-98 Tall Backrest Pad - Smooth Top-Stitched
99353-82Z Metal Adhesive-Backed Logos

50210-06 Passenger Footpeg Mounting Kit
49110-98 Large Cushioned Footpeg Kit

First issue
occurred at approximately 280 miles: Left side view mirror and turn signal came loose while on the road. Tightened the bolt and attached hardware resolving the issue.

Added Accessory: 8/10/2009
58346-06 Quick-Release Detachable Compact Windshield - Standard-Height

First 500 break-in maintenance date:
9/1/2009
I let Waugh's do my maintenance and went with HD Syn 3 in all.

More Accessories Installed at Maintenance date:
49010-06 Engine Guard Kit
50214-98A Jiffy Stand Extension
53862-00 Sport Luggage Rack - Five Bar, Chrome

Second issue
occurred around 9/18/2009 1100 miles: Right side running light was not coming on. Covered under warranty and replaced in a few minutes.

Added more accessories:
9/10/2009
American Flag for the Sissy Bar
62803-97A Locking Gas Cap
- Went this route because it looks near stock.

Third issue arises 11/16/2009: The gas gauge seems off. I hit LOW which should mean I have less than 10 miles of gas left in the tank, but when I fill up, I would only put in 3.9 Gallons and it's a 4.7 Gallon tank. So I took it into Waughs and had them test the tank. It reads perfectly at half a tank and at 1/4 of a tank, but once below a quarter, it's off by at least half a gallon. They adjusted the float to get it as close as possible. I'm aware that others just ignore this dummy gauge and do mileage but I spent a lot on this ride so **** should work right!

Did 2500 mile service on 6/15/2010 and added these accessories:
Kuryakyn Heat Deflectors
Sportech Cranker Tank Bag
Desert Dawg Rain Guards
Multi-Fit Touring Day Bag and Overnight Bag

5000 mile service 10/26/2010 and added some accessories:

68913-98C Engine Guard-Mounted Fog Lamps
59545-04 Sissy Bar Auxiliary Brake and Tail Lamp - Red Lens
51933-06 Sundowner Solo Seat
51473-06A Sundowner Pillion
97018-08 Passenger Grab Rails
91668-05 Passenger Handrail Covers

Stopped riding for a while after late November of 2010, weather would just not let me ride.

Death in the family Dec 2010.

Surgeries put me out Jan-Jun 2011.

Changes

I decided I would be doing some of the work on my bike. It will make me appreciate it even more if I can say I did something for it.
Purchased a Service Manual and started going through parts of interest etc.

Edit 5/10/2011:
Saddlebag Guard Bag and Water Bottle Holder - Bar & Shield Logo - 91992-98 Going to mount this on the ammo box or battery cover, haven't decided yet.

Edit 5/14/2011: The local Military Surplus had a few ammo cans in the window. Saddlebags here I come! I went through all of them and grab the two that seemed to work the best. I'm a little concerned making sure they don't hit the shocks and I'll have to make some kind of extension so there's more distance between the box and fender for vibrations etc.
2x Metal Army Ammo Cans - $17 each what a steal!

Edit 5/23/2011: Been under the weather and haven't been able to ride due to surgeries. Makes it hard to work on the bike when you know you can't even take it on a test run when you're done doing the work

Edit 5/25/2011:
Fork Bag - 91743-87T 11-inch length. Bought 5/25/11.

Edit 5/26/2011:
2" Risers - From Loner Industries Ordered 5/23/2011. Installed 5/26/2011.
Received Loner Industries 2" Risers. Installed 2" Risers. Quality product, easy to install in about 30 minutes for a novice like myself. Won't be able to tweak the position until I can go for a test ride, probably another 2-3 weeks. Needs a good wash, but I want to get the tank lift and fatbob/wideglide exhaust in place first. Pics:

SE O2 Sensor Socket Tool - 94136-09 I've picked up a set of exhaust headers and mufflers from a stock 2009 Wide Glide or Fat Bob. I like how both exhaust mufflers go out to the back wheel instead of the staggered look. The original stock pipes are barely still on because I think I can remove the O2 sensors without removing the pipes making the swap easier. Ordered on 5/23/2011. Received 5/30/2011

Black Fork Air Baffle
- 58520-79A Superceded by 585520-79B A little more expensive for the black one but my dealer was able to order it. Ordered on 5/23/2011. Receieved 5/30/2011

3" Tank Lift
- From Jackyl MMCPruducts On Ebay Ordered 5/23/2011 2:03AM Received 6/2/2011

Edit 6/10/2011 2:09AM:
Fat Bob/Wide Glide OEM Exhaust System Install: Completed!
This took me a while to get done since I got hung up on getting an O2 sensor out of the original exhaust. I had to do two soaks of PB Blaster and do a couple applications while attempting to take off the sensor with both PB Blaster and WD 40.

Street Bob OEM Exhaust System Removed (Before):

Fat Bob / Wide Glide OEM Exhaust System Installed (After):

6/28/2011: Touring Fork Air Baffle (Black) Installed!
Credit goes to ArcherGodwin for his photos in this thread:
https://www.hdforums.com/forum/dyna-...ml#post4515885
Without them this mod would have been a pain. Thank you. I am not good with a cutter saw so I had my buddy cut up the baffle for me and adjust fitment while I provided the photos and some hand support. We also had to change the clip holding the brake line so it had a longer reach to fit right. Test ride afterward proved that this baffle pushes the wind down at your legs instead of your chest! Can't wait to get back on it again.
UPDATE: On the ride home it started raining, not too heavily but heavy enough. The air baffle actually forced the rain down away from my chest and thighs! I have a windshield so this product changes the direction of air flow on the under side of the bike.

6/30/2011: Installed 3" Tank Lift from Jackyl!
Took me a while since I've never drained the tank before. Should have run the tank near empty but I got it on. Then after going back to the forums I found I installed it backwards... I'll leave it as is, unless it bothers me or causes a problem.

7/5/2011: SE Super Tuner - #32109-08B
7/8/2011: SE Tuner Cable Kit - #32184-08A It should come with these parts *cough*

7/30/2011: Stage 1 Air Cleaner Kit (w/ Stock Chrome Cover) - #29406-08 I did not purchase this entire kit. I was able to purchase a breakdown of items due to getting the two below pieces and not wanting to have extras to sell or have in the garage, saved a few bucks in the process too. Missed part 10 the clip though, will get one next time I go in. Just download the install sheet for the kit and purchase all the items other than the below two and not the SE cover sticker.
Wrinkle Black Screamin’ Eagle® Air Cleaner Backplate Kit - #29119-08

Be careful, Street Bob mods sometimes get out of hand! I just happened to have painted some fenders for my kid's Nightster, I sprayed the H-D denim clearcoat from their spray can. That stuff is nearly impossible to do a poor job with. You can do the paint yourself. Find some old metal and start practicing. Once the fear of painting is gone, the modifications come cheap!

Sorry for the hijack.
Like the replacement tins you've got on the bike Jason. Glad we live in different Greenville's.

Well now.. How much paint is necessary to do all three pieces? I do see they sell by the bucket... But you mention spray can.

Here's the link I found, what item were you referencing?
