Carb jetting and Stage 1 kit

Carb jetting and Stage 1 kit
While trying to get the bad running issue resolved, the carb rejetting was tried several times only to find the real problem was ignition related. However since the bike has had the cams repaced, a K&N breather kit and Vance & Hines exhaust, it only seemed appropriate that the whole thing would benefit from larger jets in the carb.
With that, the main jet was upped from the stock .190 to .195. However when I was researching more information on the carb I came across this web site: http://www.harley-performance.com/ha...r-jetting.html
On this page it states that the main jet does not even come into play untill you are at 3/4 throttle and above. Idle and mid-range operation is handled by the pilot jet. SO with that said, unless you are accelerating hard or are cruising at high speed, the main jet isn't even involved.
My question is this, when cruising at 70 mph on the interstate, the RPM is about 3100, it would seem that the pilot jet is the one supplying the fuel. This would also apply when just running around town.
I was considering getting a stage 1 upgrade kit for the carb. Any thoughts on this?
