Default Quick Detach Sissy Bar Rattle!

I have a quick detach sissy bar on my 06 Super Glide. The thing rattles annoyingly loud. Is there a way to stabilize it to make the rattling stop? I have tightened all the fasteners on the thing and it continues to rattle. I think the actual noise is coming from the quick detach mechanism itself. I like the way the bike looks with it on, but can't deal with the rattle. No rattle with the GF back there, only when solo.

Did you try rotating the little spacer things? That's what the instructions say.

Try a little electrical tape on the black part of the mounting hardware where the latch is and see if that works.

I had the rattle on my wide glide detachable sissy bar. Same as you only rattled left side at the locking mechanism when solo.
I just lowered the locking mechanism onto some silastic silicone sealant. Took my rattle away

I had the same issue. Got a ripped bicycle tire tube for free from a local bike store, cut four small strips, and placed the strips on the posts before installing and locking down the sissy bar. No more rattles.

Harley says to rotate the mounts a 1/4 turn. do it 4 time and then buy new mounts. Or just find something to take up the slack.

A louder exhaust would work too!

Already got the V&H Short Shots. I'll try the tape, then the bicycle tube. Sounds like that should work. Thanks

i got 2011 wide glide with the tall sissy bar and it drives me insane. going to try the tape first, if that dont work ill try the silicone... if that dont work its time to crack some skulls! Everyone knows that these parts were not cheap... and it appears they were made cheaply
