Default Weird Noise Worries Me

I'm hearing a weird noise from the back of the bike. I checked it out and nothing is rubbing. The brakes aren't sticking. Everything looks fine. When I first start riding, I don't really hear the noise. The more/longer I ride, the louder the noise gets.

So I take the bike to the shop to have them look at it. The mechanic takes it for a short ride and says "I don't hear any noise." So I head home and about half way home I hear it again. It's not something that I can describe in writing. I'm at a loss here and I know it's not a normal noise.

Has anyone ever had a similar problem?

Any suggestions?

what does the noise sound like... if it is a bad bearing that is no joke and they usually get louder with the more you ride and they heat up

Squeaking, grinding, whirring or clicking noise?
Does it do it under acceration, decel, no load, or while turning/leaning?
Or while braking

Angry Bearing failure

This sound like a bearing, the new wheel bearing does not have any grease on them and are seal. Check the bearing on the pulley side of the wheel they go first because of the belt tension. This happen on 2004 Buell

Somebody just recently on this forum had a bearing issue on a newer bike. Anybody remember this? The "new" bearing failed.

My gut feeling is you have a belt issue, either tension or alignment.

you probably would have mentioned it, but have you done any work back there? if so, i'd check all the components you've worked on and go from there.

I feel like an idiot trying to describe the noise, but here goes. Woo-woo-woo-woo... The longer I ride the more pronounced it gets. I know this isn't a normal sound and I just want it fixed. I don't want to have an accident do to a part failure that I could have prevented.

did you (or the knucklehead dealer) check your belt tension? I toasted a bearing cuz the belt was too tight on a different bike. That was a nasty mess when she let go.....that noise sounds awefully familiar

sounds like bearing or belt problems to me... have you ever removed the rear wheel or adjusted belt tension? i'd check your belt tension and belt wear, got a service manual? hows your tire wearing?
