Default 2011 wideglide detachable mount set up Question

Guys I installed the detachable backrest kit on my WG, to be honest it doesn;t see to be right. THe mount points seem off from the side plates. I literally had to loosen the front mount points to get side plates to drop in. Seems a bit off.

I added some washers to the front mounts and it seems better, however I had to add way more than the directions called for.

Anyone else have similar issues with this mount system? Also I am using the turn signal relocation kit.

What was your end result? I just purchased the same 2 kits for my 2011 FXDWG. At first glance though, I cannot tell where I need to cut the wire for the signals. Any tips?

OK, #1 don't cut wires, you unplug the wires from the connector and feed wires in through the bracket. The instructions tell you to remove the tail lights per the manual. In the manual they tell you how to take apart the wire harness from the plug and back feed the wires.

Oh well $hit. Wish I'd have checked back sooner.

I don't know how I couldn't have and then slipped the wires through the new turn signal bolts though. I did get everything installed but could sure use about six extra inches of wire on each side.
