I'm going to powdercoat my rims and spokes....I've got a buddy who powdercoats so no problem there, but I'm wondering how much can I expect to pay to have the wheels removed from the bike, tire dismounted, rim dismantled and it all put back together again after the powdercoating?

anyone done it? how much did you spend minus the powdercoat?

I had my front wheel redone 2 weeks ago.
Ijust put black spokes on instead of powdercoating
the whole setup. I used an independent shop instead
of the local dealer. Talked with him afterwards and he told me
it took him over two hours. The local dealer had quoted me
aprox. $130.00. I also had other work done while it was there,
replaced the sliders, triple trees, also had to redo the wiring
for the handlebars since I changed triple trees. They did a fantastic
job and I was only without my bike for two days. Total cost was $295.00

 

where can I buy just the spokes? and is there a certain size and number I need to buy?

 

I purchased mine from hdwheels.com.
I just told the salesman the year model of my bike
and the size wheel and he sent me what I needed.
I believe the spokes (which are black), and the
nipples (which are Stainless) cost me $170.00 with
shipping. That was for a 40 spoke rim.
