Default 2500 miles with fairing... (review)

I FN LOVE IT!!!!!! had to do a few things. i took a stock air damper from a touring bike, cut 1 inch off the frnt and 1 inch off each side and bolted that under the lower tree. worked great.
after 95 - 100mph she gets a bit of a speed wobble , but if you have your feet on your pegs it is really not bad... and how often are you at 100MPH
speaking of feet that does play a part in it. on relaly long trips i like to put my feet up on the passanger pegs at times. over 80mph you would get speed wobble like this. but that is about it. the bike handled great, cornered awesome. just POUNDED, this stereo is insane!!!
all in all I LOVE IT

head unit splash guard down

85 mph smooooth as glass

i pod dock location

lower air damper i made

peopl though it was a street glide

Must be a lot of vibration in the mirrors . . . from the 6x9s hahaha. Glad you had a good trip, and your air damper worked out! Bike looks sicK as always!

This air damper you speak of, is there a part number or particular model for the one you used? I've worked on my buddies RK and i don't reacall seeing that. Want to look into that for my bike.

I saw the write up you did on the install of everything. Freakin sweet, I thought about relocating/getting a different speedo on my super glide to get a BW with the stereo/speaker slots. Maybe some day, until then I'll use ear buds for the highway and the cycle sounds I have mounted up in the BW for around town.

As far as doing 100 mph on your bike, i was wondering if mine would do a 100 mph the other day. It will.

Joe, could you please tell what the effect is of the air damper you bolted underneath the lower trees?

Is it to regulate air flow or what?

FXD2003Rider,

If i understand it right it is to redirect the wind going through the forks. The lip in the back redirects the air downward. Did a little research on it when i got home. Gonna look into one to see if it reduces the air coming up from under my bike any.
