+3 on disconnecting the battery for a few minutes.

Also, don't coast downhill at 10mph or above with the ignition on.

 

68921-07 is the p/n for the TSSM. This module is located behind the left hand side cover under the seat, item 15/36 in the diagram.

Could you give us some additional info like:

• Have you checked the fuses in the fusebox?
• Do the turn signals work properly?

Any one on base who rides a H-D? You could try his TSSM on your bike and your TSSM in his and see what happens?

 

Don't understand why there is a TSSM (Turn Signal Security Module) if there's no security system.
Definitely check the fuses. You can try to reset the TSSM:

step # 1. move handle bar kill switch to off position
step # 2. turn your ignition key: on-off, on-off then on
step # 3. hit the left turn signal twice.
your turn signals and indicator light will flash 1 - 3 flashes
step # 4. hit the right turn signal once.
turn signals and indicator light will flash once.
step # 5. hit the right turn signal once.
turn and indicator signals will flash twice.
step # 6. hit right turn signal once.
turn and indicator signals will flash three times.
step # 7. hit left turn signal once.
turn and indicator signals flash to indicate error code

step # 8. to now clear codes, hit left turn signal and hold down for 6 seconds until confirmation.
turn and indicator signals flash twice.
step # 9. turn the ign switch to off

 

I'm betting that the same sensor that auto-cancels the turn signal is also a tilt sensor for the security system, if so equipped. No reason to have two tilt-detection sensors, when one will serve both purposes.

Son of a Bit.... I just figured out what the hell caused the light in my bike. I was thinking it was the LEDs or the side mount plate or the fact that I wired my rears to be running and flashers. I did all of that when I first got the bike and I didn't have that red key till I took the required motorcycle safety course for the base. The first thing they do is make you walk your bike back and forth across the riding range. It's a sloped range and I was probably doing over 10mph. I couldn't figure out for the life of me why that red key came on and my signals went haywire! That's why I'm on this site. Cause you guys are the ****!

Hey guys I have an 08 sportster and my red key light indicator is on too. Although the bike starts in neutral if I want to start it in first gear I cannot. Why do you think this is and what's my best option to get rid of the light?
