i had screamin eagle slip ons, ness big sucker intake and a power commander...definitely saw a big improvement...this last week i installed a V&H HO propipe (2 into 1) and im blown away by the difference in power...its quieter than my slip ons while cruising., but really barks when you get on it...let us know what you end up with

I have V&H big radius 2into2 and love em sound great and got a great increase in tq and hp from stock with stage 1 a/c, pipe, SE pro tuner and professional tune. I honestly would say go with what you like visually because performance between the two unless you plan on racing and spliting hairs its not going to be that noticable.

I'm starting to hate the way my Thunder header looks and really tired of having to repaint it every couple or three years.I was actually considering buying a clean set of stock headers and getting some slip ons and try that for awhile

I have the RB Racing LSR (see sig), I like the look and has a unique sound, not too loud until you get on the throttle.

Just tossing in my 2bits as no one even mentioned them. Supertrapp 2to1 I had a set on my 04 FXD can be adjusted by adding or removing the discs. Still have them and the bike but I am more a traditionalist and love the duals. I'll put them back on again someday. If Supertrapps are good enough to be screaming eagle parts WWEEEELLLL.

i love the 2-1 not a fan of the 2-2's i just dont like the look unless its on an older bike. i've run the bub7 and thunder header and like them both. A few of my friends run bassani and have nothing but good things to say about them. if i had to buy a brand new set up bassani would probably be the way i went.

If I had bought a new pipe...it would have been the Supertrapp 2-1. I've heard them on a friends '11 Road Glide as well as an '84 (? I think) FXDP with head and cam work. Both sound great as well as the ability to tune the pipe as you wish. Just my $.02.

As said before unless you ride hard through the gears you won't feel the gains of a 2-1 over a GOOD 2-2...Now if you are talking open drag pipes that may be different story, then again maybe not, i would bet most guys if they are just putting around couldnt tell the difference of a 80hp or a 70hp bike...untill they rode it hard...on my 08 night train i had VH short shots ( open drag pipes) then switched to the VH pro pipe 2-1..man what a difference it was a difference i could see while racing guys i couldn't beat before...but i ride hard through the gears so i could see and feel the gains...a good 2-2 with a cross over pipe won't be far off a 2-1...open drags are a waste of money might as well just pound the baffles out of the stock mufflers to make the same sound and save the money!!! Just my 2 cents

I’ll drink to that.
That’s a good way to put it for sure.

Hate to hijack a thread, but willl anyway. Anybody out there with a quit 2 into 1 want to trade for a like new chrome set of V&H big radius 2 into 2? They are a bit loud for me, and I am looking for a quieter pipe. I would consdier HD slip ons.
