Default Flush Aircraft Style Gas Cap?

I have seen this style cap on later model Dynas, but was wondering if anyone has made it fit on an earlier model. Mine is a 2001 and I like the look a lot. Especially with the black console.

Easiest way to do this is swap tanks, the newer tank will bolt on to your earlier Dyna, EFI and carb tanks are the same, just change the petcock and guts.

Does the HD set work with the 2011 Wide Glide? I was looking and I do not see it. I think I would do the black set on mine but I guess I am not seeing it.

Compare stock part numbers for earlier years to yours, that will tell you if they are the same.

I'd be more than happy to trade tanks with ya! LOL
The tank swap it's self won't be that bad, just remember that you'll have to relocate the speedo to the bars, and I'm not even sure the speedo's are the same size so "relocate" may not even be the correct word.
You also have to relocate your ignition. It can be done, but it's prolly be a pain in the *** for ya.

I agree with you; have an '01 FXDXT and went with a swap meet tank and the HD black console; looks way cleaner AFAIK.....was an easy swap; think I had to re-drill the back mount hole.....biggest problem for you may be matching paint; I had the bike apart and was painting everything anyway.

go down to your local ratty bike shop(the one with greasy bikers, not collared hd workers) chances are that they have at least one on hand.

Your bike looks good. I was looking to repaint or do a matter black vinyl wrap this winter. I thought I saw a cap on a bike that looked like the Harley chrome one, but it was brushed. Is that the stock cap? What year tank did you swap to? Also, your rear looks lower than stock. How did you lower it?

Good eye there, JohnC...I think the tank was sold as being off an '05...it had a small dent in one side; I got it for $75...the console and cap are from HD's parts catalog...the rear shocks are Progressive 418's at 12.5" length; I lowered the fork tubes into the trees as well. The 418's were too harsh solo, even on the softest pre-load (I'm only 190 lbs) and Progressive dosen't sell softer springs for the 418's so I put the stockers back on after the wife bought her own HD and dropped the fork tubes back to stock
