Default Putting V&H Shortshot on 2012 Wide Glide

I was looking to install Shortshots on my 2012 Wide Glide, after calling Vance and Hines and asking them if p/n 17217 would fit. they said no and that they would have exhaust out by begin next year. well I was waiting so did little research. you can install 17217 with adapter kits for the O2 sensors. p/n1861-0608 is from namzccp.com. only other thing you need to do is remove the one allen head bolt stated it in the instruction and one from the old exhaust bracket. hope this helps

I have a PowerCommander with O2 eliminators, and have removed the O2 sensors and plugged the O2 ports on the headers. You could do the same to get going sooner.

I did keep everything since I always hear people say CA may start smoging bikes in the future.

I was told by the tech at Eastern performance cycles that the Vance and Hines bigshots would fit perfectly on my 2012 Superglide, so i purchased them. When I received them I discovered the bung hole for the 02 censors were 18 millimeters wide and the censor probe was 12 millimeters. So I called Myers/Duren here in Tulsa and they welded a adaptor onto the pipes and they work fine. There is a adaptor you can get from Dragspecialties.com also if you want to go that way. Good luck.

Are you going to have to have it tuned or mapped?

I know what you are saying njwideglidell, but I thought i'd just run it a while and check the plugs and the pipes later. The E3 plugs are burning great with a lite golden brown color to them and the bike runs like someone snapped it in the butt with a damp bathtowel. Maybe retune it down the road sometime, but for now the ride is great.

This would be the way I would go. No need to have the O2 sensors if you using a power commander.
