That's what I was thinking.

I have a 06'RKC and am seriouly thinking of selling the King and getting a 2012 WG.Always loved the chopper look.Sat on one at the dealer today, and it felt great.Gonna take a test spin on one next week.If it feels as good as I hope I'm pretty sure I'm gonna pull the trigger and buy the WG.I love the RK,but I ride solo, and don't do many really long rode trips. Will miss bags and a windshield on long trips or getting caught in the rain, but I figure I can always pick up some detachable bags and windshield.

need to solve the tour pak problem
king pak looks super retarded on my switchback

I love the Roadie , no way I'm going back to the W/G don't miss it at all.
Long or short ride , city or hwy it's an awesome ride.
MB, I'm curious as to why you chose the road glide over the street glide. Love the looks of both but did that fixed faring on the RG as opposed to the SG that is mounted to and turns with the forks, take some getting used to?
When I sat on a RG, that dynamic kinda tripped me out.

Ooops, i already asked this question, sorry

I haven't ridden qa Road Glide but I have ridden BMW cycles with frame-mounted fairings, and I spent three months on a Street Glide. I think that mounting the fairing to the frame enables better handling and helps the bike to be less effected by wind blasts. There's less weight on the front end, and there's less interaction between the wind and the front end. As far as lighting goes at night, not at all a problem if your headlights work well. With the Road Glide's dual headlights there's a wide field of vision and lighting and in minutes you will be very comfortable that you are seeing all that you need to see.

Cool I rode a couple of them fixed fairing bikes

and they totally freaked me out.
I need my head light and everything else to move with the forks.
not sure why I have this stigma
my fenders on my cars don't move and it doesn't bother me.
FB have you done the demo days thing?
ride them all a couple times before you step into bagger world.
big heavy bikes I am taking parts off of mine now I am that over it.
come ride my E glide for a week then decide...
willing to bet the only things you will like are the fairings and the stereo
your old lady will like the ginormous back seat. the tour pak is uber cool.
can't say anything bad about it.

went from a heritage softail to a Street bob. I ride farther now actually now that I dont have all that weight to lug around. I love my dyna and its one of the best bikes so far that I have ever had. I love the handling and its just way more fun to ride. I do miss the floorboards but have gotten used to the regular pegs again.

That's a great offer Tim , thank you. No, i haven't done the demo days and that's good advice that I should check out.

You DO know you are the poster child for the FLD don't you? Your bold and progressive mods have us all thinking and considering. the more i see what you are trying and then doing, the more I'm beginning to believe I don't need a street glide...I can just do detachables like you are doing and get my cruiser back at will. Our bike is revolutionary and you are proving what versatility can be enjoyed and attained. Especially coming from your perspective because you have both. Way to go bud, keep em coming, we are all watching and learning. Hey, at the river run, want to be sgt. at arms? You would wear that jacket well...^5's Not only that, Tammy could be road captain since she runs circles around us all anyway...lol

I've bought two large baggers thinking I would get used to them and love the touring ability. Both times I grew to hate riding them. I would hop on my Bonneville instead, eventually even when I toured. Just hate all that weight and the non-sporty ride. To me an 800 pound bagger just takes away from the motorcycle experience

Just traded my Rocker in on a Wide Glide and love it. Have the detachable bags and backrest/luggage rack so I can load it up when I want. And it's a nice light sporty bike. Just depends on what you like.
