Default Super Glide 0-60

I'm looking at a 2008 Dyna Superglide. I have a couple years of riding experience (about 5000 miles) on standards and sport bikes. I've made peace with the fact that I won't be carving up back roads like with the SV650, but I can't find any reliable 0-60 figures on the Super Glide.

Does anyone know the 0-60 time for a stock dyna?

Also, can I put a fatter tire on the front and a second brake disc without having to buy new forks?

Thanks, and I hope to see you on the road before too long.

Well your question got me intrested. I looked all over the net and could not find a review that listed 0-60 or 1/4 mile times for a Dyna. I will subscribe to see if somebody has better luck than me.

An 08 dyna stock with a 96 ci motor will do the quarter in about 15 seconds. Now 60 mph would be near the end of second gear maybe the top of 3rd so I am going to guess at 7 seconds depending on the rider.

Where did you find this? A stock superglide is good for a 13.5 second or quicker 1/4. 0-60 is under 5 seconds. Maybe as quick as 4.4 depending on the rider. My FXDX was tested any where from a 13.5-13.7 with the 88". Plenty of info online. Someone posted a link in the general chat forum on a thread about a 1200 Sportster vs. Goldwing. It was a road test summary from a motorcycle mag. Had the 1200's as quick as 12.9 and mist other Harleys in the 13's.

you should be able to put a slightly fatter tire on the front, 110m with the stock wheel. For the double disc you need the lower forks of the FatBob as you need the mounts for the second (right side) caliper. Some people have done the mod using vrod forks.

you may wanto take a looks at the below:

I smoke 600cc rockets no prob. Haven't got a chance to run any bigger rockets.

Best time at the track was 13.1 sec. 1/4 mile.

Man, I'm glad you said that. I know a Dyna isn't a R1, but 7 second 0-60? My crappy old Toyota Camry isn't much slower than that.

Thanks for the input. I was originally wanting a Fat Bob, but I can get such a better deal on the Super Glide, I just don't like the skinny front tire, spindly spoke wheel, and single brake.

Again, I know the Dyna isn't a Ducati, and I shouldn't expect it to perform like one. But I do want to rip up the county roads now and again, and the Dyna (and my big ***) is a lot of weight to be relying on that bicycle tire and single disc to stop me.

Two years ago when I was racing my Buell fairly regularly, Dyna's would show up once in a while. In stock or mostly stock trim, they were in the mid 13 second range at 103-105 mph threw the traps. It took a few mods like cams and compression to get them into the 12's, and big bore kits with headwork to get them past my Buell. Now make no mistake..... plenty of hot rod Dyna's blew the **** out of my Buell, but it took plenty of money and mods to do it.
